“Great journalism informs us, inspires us and connects us. And it’s on the brink of extinction. As our screens fill with clickbait and fake news, our trusted local sources are rapidly fading away. Now, over 20% of US metro areas are without a dedicated news outlet.”

Protect Our Press is an initiative by Allen & Gerritsen to get agencies, brands, publishers and individuals to pledge to support trustworthy journalism. Through the website, you can learn more about the project, partners, and how to get involved.

The branding design of the site and social posts is informed by both traditional and digital news sources to show the challenges modern news faces. The logo is inspired by a classic newspaper masthead and incorporates a glitch effect to show the fragility of these trusted sources.
