Rhode Island Department of Health: Try StayingHome™

The Rhode Island Department of Health wanted a PSA to raise awareness of respiratory viruses in winter of 2023. Instead of hitting people over the head with the same information they have been hearing since 2020, we decided to take a different approach: humor. Parodying a pharmaceutical ad, we encouraged people experiencing respiratory virus symptoms to “Try StayingHome™.” Through this, we were able to communicate that this simple action aids in both preventing the spread of illness, as well as a faster recovery. This commercial aired on broadcast TV in Rhode Island among many other actual pharmaceutical ads, causing a double-take among viewers.
